The Oldest Man on Utah Beach; Or, Theodore Roosevelt Jr on D-Day


In all of my studying of the D-Day landings in Normandy on 06 June 1944, I have never heard this incredible story of phenomenal courage, and leadership of the highest quality.

George Washington's Vision at Valley Forge

  It was the winter of 1777/78. The Thirteen Colonies, breaking away from the rule of King George and Great Britain, were in the midst of the Revolutionary War. General George Washington and his troops were enduring terrible hardships at Valley Forge during an intensely bitter cold and snowy winter. Many men of the Continental Army were dying from the unrelenting cold temperatures, a lack of food and clothes brought on by inaction from the Continental Congress, and severely low morale.  In spite of these chilling, horrific conditions, General Washington remained in camp with his men, while allowing officers under his Command to visit family for their well-earned furloughs. Washington's determination, force of will and calm and commanding presence helped his army through this fiercest of winters.
